Mary Gene Saudelli

Mary Gene Saudelli is Professor & Dean, Faculty of Education, University of New Brunswick. Research interests are focused on high impact practices and trans disciplinary, 21st century curriculum design and implementation, EDIDB, women’s leadership, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Indigenous education, and international higher education. She has been teaching for over 30 years, the last 20 in higher education.
She has taught in Canada, Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Istanbul. In higher education, she has taught: pre-service teacher education, curriculum and program design, socio-cultural theories in teaching and learning, sociology of education, adult learning, community education, international and Indigenous education, new literacies, English Language Teaching (ELT), and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Mary has supervised graduate students through their theses and projects, led curriculum renewal projects, supervised practicum experiences, designed international practicum experiences, and supported faculty in the design and implementation of experiential and interdisciplinary educational opportunities. Mary has Published 2 books and has numerous peer reviewed journal articles to her name. She has published in peer reviewed journals (Canadian Journal of Education, Journal of Interdisciplinary Education, Journal of Educational Thought, etc.), and edited books (21st Century Literacy Teacher Education), and she is the author of a book (The Balancing Act: International, Transdisciplinary Higher Education in the 21st Century) and she has a third in process related to women’s leadership.
She has been the lead guest editor in Special Issues with the Journal of Educational Thought and the Brock University Journal of Education. She has received grants from funding institutions in Canada, Qatar and Dubai.
